When using the Futhark runes you need to
pick the runes from a bag (traditionally made of sackcloth or animal
skin) and place them in a set spread to answer your questions. Unlike
the Witch's runes, which are cast in entirety, the Futhark is similar
to tarot in so much that only a certain number of stones (depending
on the spread) are read.

to its tarot counterpart in that it represents the past,
