Pagan: One who worships the Deities of Nature.

Pendulum: A tool used for divination or to communicate with spirits or divine.

Pentacle: A cicular disc which is inscribed with a pentagram on its surface, or a ring that contains a pentagram.

Pentagram: A five-pointed star drawn with a single line. Upright, it resembles a human figure, with spirit taking the highest importance. Inverted it is often considered a Satanic symbol. Although this can be true it is not always so.

Power: Another word for energy.

Presence Candle: Candle burned to symbolize the Presence of a Deity.

Priapic: Shaped like a phallus. A wand used in fertility rites and/or handfasting ceremonies. Average wand length, though often thicker than usual with the end 8-9 inches carved into the shape of a phallus. Sometimes has a pine cone or acorn as an alternative. Also applies to the hidden end of a besom which is sometimes carved into the shape of a phallus.

Projective Hand: A term often used in ritualism to describe your most powerful hand. It is generally the one that you write with.

Quarters: The north, east, south, and west quadrants of the circle.

Quarters: The Guardians of the north, east, south, and west quadrants of the circle. Also called the Watchtowers, Quarter Guardians, or Guardians.

Receptive Hand: The hand which has less power. It is generally the hand you do not write with. This hand is used less in holding and charging ritual items. It does, however, receive outside energy used to feed the ritual or spell.

Rede (The): In some ways the "laws" of Wicca.

Right-hand Path: A term used for a person who practices magick that is beneficial to others. It is the pposite of left-hand path.

Rite: A ritual.

Ritual: A formal series of generally predetermined actions (which can be mental and/or or physical) performed to harness, and then direct magickal powers toward the accomplishment of a goal.

Runes: A tool of magick and divination. There are many different types of runes. Best known are the Futhark and Witch's runes.
